Keeping in Touch

David Neu
Community Planning and Development Technician, 1972

I am from Mohawk’s third graduating class. After over 32 years at CAMCO (Hotpoint Appliances), I retired with 11 years as a Quality Control Inspector. Beginning in high school, I began donating blood at the first clinic ever held in Hamilton in 1967. On October 14, 2020, I made my 350th blood donation. For over 11 years, I have also been involved as a volunteer driver for the Canadian Blood Services’ Life Bus program, ensuring donors get to the clinic and return to their origin.

After I graduated from Mohawk, I moved on to obtain training in an awesome firm located in Burlington.  From there, I branched out on my own where I could raise my family.  I was in my own business for over 25 years.  When my family was all grown, I took a position as an accountant within the entertainment industry.  I was there for seven years before deciding to venture off with my husband on our own adventure.  Mohawk was a great stepping stone and taught me all I needed to know who I needed to be.  I met a lot of awesome people.  I am also proud to say that my daughter is in her final semester of rec therapy at Mohawk.

In October, my fiancée and I moved into our new build that we purchased in 2019. With Covid-19 hitting hard, we were worried about delays and had a few along the way for sure. After renting a basement apartment at an AirBNB for three months, we were excited to get back to our own space, finally!
